Christoph Benner

Christoph is an entrepreneur by conviction and a proven portfolio manager who has built up comprehensive experience in asset management and wealth management over four decades.

Over the past 26 years, Christoph has founded, built and successfully led two asset management firms in an entrepreneurial capacity as founder and CEO — most recently CHOM CAPITAL GmbH — managing and investing the assets of entrepreneurs and institutional investors, primarily in the equity segment. His expertise spans the full spectrum, from hands-on analytical work to corporate-law and strategic matters as a managing partner.

The foundation was laid during his time at Deutsche Bank, where he learned the financial craft from the ground up. Over more than twelve years there, he worked in wealth and asset management and in equity research, helped build what was then Germany's leading research team as its head, and accompanied numerous IPOs.

What has carried Christoph Benner through every stage of his career is a genuine interest in the entire value chain — from the provider of capital to the company in which it is invested. He is a passionate entrepreneur, self-employed for more than 25 years, true to the principle "entrepreneurs backing entrepreneurs." For him, the focus is always on people — within his own team as much as in the companies he shapes and manages. For nearly twenty years, he has additionally supported young firms as a business angel — as both investor and adviser — and has been part of numerous successful exits along the way.

Privately, Christoph is an avid gravel biker and sportsman — ideally as part of a team. Family and friends, trust and reliability shape his outlook in business as in life.
